Mixed media artist, Cynthia Berg, makes original work with a variety of wet, dry and digital mediums, like paint, collage, vintage ephemera, petals and leaves from the garden, photography and pixels. Each piece is inspired by nature, her Scandinavian heritage and insatiable, curious imagination.

Meet Cynthia Berg

{aka Cyn}

For me, creating with words, images and visual art is a welcome freedom practice where I can be infinitely curious, boundless and lionhearted.

Mixed media means no material is off-limits and ‘rules’ are flexible. I lean toward abstract and semi-abstract work to allow more of my moody, inner landscape to be explored. Bits of vintage papers collaged into the layers give the artwork a sense of history, nostalgia and charm. Digital paintbrushes can reveal and conceal the graphic lines, shapes and shadows of the natural world.

I make art for the way it makes me feel in the process of making it - contemplative, cathartic, expansive. And that kind of medicine is what I hope is also received by the viewer.
