Creative Writing Prompts

  • A random email headline from your SPAM folder or social media.

  • In the third person (she/he/they), tell the story of your first love.

  • The third sentence from the top of page 44 in any book.

  • Select a photo by typing ‘interesting places’ in the search bar at unsplash.com.

  • Five words from the last thing you wrote.

  • The first or last line of a poem (try Rattle.com).
